Will Congress change its Secunderabad Loksabha candidate?

Congress finds itself in an upsetting situation after Daman Nagendra publically announced that he will not be resigning from his position as the MLA of Khairatabad. It is worth noticing that Congress gave Loksabha ticket for Secunderabad constituency to Daman Nagendra four days after he defected to Congress from BRS. On December 3, 2023, he was elected as the MLA of Khairatabad on the BRS ticket.

Giving the Loksabha ticket to a previous BRS MLA just four days after his joining the party came as a shock to the local Congress unit and Congress workers. CA Venugopal Swami, Divya Shravanti, and a couple of other leaders were trying to get the ticket.

As per our sources, CA Venugopal Swami was topping the different internal survey reports of the party. In the meantime, Revanth Reddy had the meeting with party high command and advocated for Daman for the ticket. "Daman was supposed to resign from the party and the position after the ticket," said the sources.

But after the ticket was declared, Daman didn't resign. BRS leaders condemned Daman's move and accused him of robbing the voters' trust. The Speaker of the Telangana Assembly was petitioned to disqualify Daman Nagendra.

As per our sources, Daman is asked to resign from his position by March 29, or else the candidate for the LS polls can be changed.
